Hello,

I’m working with an artists collective in Arizona right now, and we’re checking in with various groups through Slingshot’s Radical Contact List.

We just started an art and activism ‘zine and we’ve got it posted in both readable and print PDF versions here:

I remember my first sewing machine class!! I bought the most expensive material to make a jumper…I had a Singer Touch and Sew that I bought on credit. The darn thing never did work right! The bobbin tension was always off, and the bobbin kept popping out. 30 odd years later, I still have that fabric! Good luck, and hope you have a Brother CS600i with your class!!

Glad you think so, Gabby! Unfortunately this was last year’s September posting! We still have some radical events going on yet this month, though – Urban Foraging workshop on Saturday 9/17 10am to noon at the South East Area Farmers Market at Garfield Park, and an organizing meeting and short film on Tuesday, September 27th at The Bloom to talk about some action to mark the 10th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan. Look for lots more in October, too!

Exciting to see different foraging workshops popping up around town! We just hosted a well-attended program at Blandford Nature Center. I hope to make it out to your event as well. I am excited about people coming together to learn from each other and intimately connecting to nature through food. After our workshop, i am so jazzed-up that i would like to create a foraging club that could take field trips to safe and accessible areas to practice ID and harvesting techniques.
